This journal is meant to chronicle the year leading up to my black belt grading in Wado Kai style karate. I hope to include pictures, stories, and just anything general that relates to the upcoming event, tentatively scheduled for the spring of 2010.
I'm a 24 year old woman who has been training since she was 20. I train three days a week, plus at home in my spare time. My karate club has three main instructors, as well as a high number of black belts, and a large ratio of women.
I used the name "sensei_pretty" because that is what I'm striving to become. My nickname at my karate club is "Pretty," so when I reach the level of black belt, I'll become a sensei. It will be a constant reminder of what I'm working towards.
